Cec is a fine example of a person transferring their interest in their
favourite pastime into the competitive arena. A keen fisherman, Cec turned his
attention to the little publicised sport of casting. He first came to prominence in 1991, taking out the first of his National
Championships. By 1994 he had four National Championships to his credit.
In 1998 he won the Australian Men's Open Casting Championship held at Phillip Island.
1999 was his best year, taking out a total of 8 State and 2 National Titles
in various disciplines and categories in the one year. His record cast of
199.29m in the 112gm category still stands to this day.
Cec is now retired and residing in Gerringong. He is still actively competing.
